Opted Out Pratitioners

Medchart is able to send claims to MSP for opted out practitioners such as chiropractors. The following points may be useful:

• for each opted out practitioner go to Tools--Providers
• make sure the opted out status is set to either pay patient (check is sent to the patient) or pay practitioner (check is sent to the practitioner)
• If you elect to have the check sent to yourself it is vital to make sure you have entered your full mailing address and postal code in this section.
• When you now create MSP claims for any patients with the practitioner above set as there doctor the province code on subsequent claims will be set to "PP" ("PD" is changed to "PP" when the claim is sent)
• you should double check the correct code is set in each MSP claim
