Is MS Access needed to
run the software?
Medchart uses a run-time version of MS Access 97. This provides
all the features of Access 97 except the ability to design
new databases. This run-time software is provided with Medchart.
If you own a copy of Access it enables you to design custom
forms, reports etc. but for most users this is not essential.
If you are using Medchart+ or database replication it probably
is a good idea to have your own copy of Access to help in
troubleshooting.
If you own other versionsof MS Access such as Access 2000,
2002, or 2003 I have made versions of Medchart that will run
properly. No new features are present in these versions and
the Access 97 version is to be preferred.
